Vacation In Your Own Bedroom

Stacy and our team transformed an already beauitful space to include all the indulgences of a luxury hotel for a segment with Better TV. Watch here!

With this view of the Hudson, the scene was already set for a relaxing mood but these tips can be used in any home to give yourself a vacation-esque oasis.

1. Layer the bed with pillows and throws.

Add texture with different pillows and cozy throw blankets. Small accent pillows are a great and inexpensive way to make a bed feel well-designed and fresh. It should entice you to jump in and relax!

2. Treat yourself to nice sheets!

Buy 500 thread count or higher cotton sheets to ensure a clean look and a good night's sleep.

3. Add ambient lighting.

Use candles to soften the lighting and give the room a glow. And if you are lucky enough to have a fireplace in your room, then, be sure to take advantage of it!

4. Leave chocolates by your pillow!

Treat yourself or your partner to little surprises. Provide your own "turndown service" by making your bed and leaving little chocolates by the bedside. Fresh flowers always are a welcomed present and they awaken the senses and give life to a space.

5. Don't forget your partner!

Make a special space for your special someone to organize their things and prepare for the next day. This valet is perfect for organizing keys, a cell phone, a wallet and a suit. This makes it easy in the morning, so you aren't fumbling around looking for what you need and disturbing someone sleeping in the room.

After all, its the little things that make a big difference.
